Portia McLaurin is our 2024 Buddy McClain Hall of Fame award Winner! She has been with the MVP Group for 27 years. She is the GM of the Sonic on McDowell Road in Jackson, MS. McLaurin is consistent, loyal, and passionate about SONIC. She says her biggest influencers in the business over the years have been Jackie Wells, Bruce Vaughn, and Olivia Webb. Her advice to other operators is to stay engaged, train your people, communicate, and be open to change. McLaurin says, “Winning the Buddy McClain Hall of Fame Award means the world to me.
