Jackson, MS— Sonic Drive In, 4719 Clinton Boulevard, Jackson, MS 39209 — On September 27th, six crew members plus their manager, Alicia Griffin flew to Nashville, TN on an all-expense paid trip to be with the top 12 best Sonic Drive-In teams in America. They had trained for 7 months to reach the top, and the trip was something they will never forget! This crew received new apparel, apple products, admission to amazing venues, live entertainment, and ate at some of Nashville’s finest restaurants.
“It brings me absolute pleasure and joy being able to see the excitement of my team throughout this entire process as well as watch them bond as a team. The Sonic Dr Pepper Crew really celebrated us and made everyone feel special! We were able to meet other amazing people and form everlasting friendships,” says Alicia Griffin, General Manager of our Jackson, MS Store on Clinton Blvd.
This obviously has translated to better service at this Drive In, and the customers and employees benefit from being one of the best trained Sonics in America. This store is up in sales and profit and has a great sense of family coming together to work as a team. In a day and time when staffing, training, and retention is hard for most QSR restaurants, this team has bonded and collectively has over 40 years of Sonic Experience.

To make it to the top 12 is no easy feat. For more than 25 years Dr Pepper has sponsored SONIC’S one of a kind performance improvement and training program for drive-ins across the country. Dr Peppers support and active encouragement has allowed SONIC crew members to rise and become masters in their specific station. From January to June, each Sonic competes in rounds that focus on the stations that make up the core of Sonic and the Dr Pepper Team: Carhop, Swamp, Grill, Dresser, Fountain & Ice Cream, & Switchboard. This year our Clinton Blvd “Showstoppers” team not only made it to the Top 12 but took home the Bronze overall team metal, a first for the McClain, Vaughn, & Partners franchise in the state of Mississippi.
In addition to what Dr Pepper & SONIC National help create, MVP Sonic Franchise Group awards any store who can make it to the top 12, $10,000 cash as an encouragement to train and get to the top!
